A two-hour cruise past the artworks of the Amsterdam Light Festival, whilst your private chef fires up the barbecue. On the Winter BBQ boat, you’ll enjoy burgers, satay and shashlik, accompanied by unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks. You’ll enjoy a private cruise with a skipper who knows the light route and will tell you all about the artworks along the way. Perfect for a Christmas drinks party with colleagues or a winter evening with friends. The festival runs from 26 November 2026 to 17 January 2027.

Private chef & skipper
This boat is your very own restaurant on the water, with light art as your view. The chef is at the grill whilst you sail under the bridges and watch one artwork after another light up. Choose the meat BBQ package or a vegetarian BBQ with marinated vegetable skewers. Prefer halal? Just mention it in your enquiry, and we’ll take care of the rest.
You’ll sail along the Amstel and through the eastern canal belt, past the artworks from the 15th edition. Many of the works hang above the water. From the boat, you’ll have a front-row view.
From soft drinks to beer and wine: the drinks package is fully included, so you can enjoy unlimited refreshments on board.
The BBQ boat comes with an extensive menu full of burgers and skewers, served with various sauces and more.
Indulge in a culinary experience with a private chef who prepares fresh dishes during the cruise, so all you have to do is enjoy.

The meat BBQ package consists of a burger, 2 satay skewers, pepper steak, shashlik, a merguez sausage, potato salad, raw vegetable salad, sauces and bread with herb butter. The vegetarian option varies by season. Halal is also available: please specify this in your request. You can find all the packages in our food book.
In winter, we sail in covered saloon boats and sloops with canopies, all of which are electrically powered. You’ll be warm and dry, with windows all round, so you won’t miss a single work of art. Saloon boats are ideal for larger groups and usually have a toilet on board. For smaller groups, a covered sloop is cosy and welcoming. Our boats are moored at the Oosterdokskade, close to Amsterdam Central Station.
Bootuitjes sails with a wide selection of boats. For the BBQ boat, you can choose an open sloop or a covered salon boat. Most salon boats have a restroom on board, and some sloops do as well. Do you have a preference? Let us know when making your request.
The basic drinks package includes beer, wine, and soft drinks. Want to upgrade the package, for example with a glass of Prosecco or a spirit? You can easily do this when making your request.
This sloop is completely private for your group. You cruise exclusively with an experienced skipper who knows the Amsterdam canals inside out and ensures a relaxed and comfortable ride. This way, you can enjoy each other’s company without interruption, while everything on board runs smoothly.
In Amsterdam, it is not allowed to play loud music in public. However, you can enjoy music on a covered salon boat, or even opt for a silent disco boat to enjoy music and dancing discreetly.

Everyone’s been to a Christmas drinks party in a pub. But what about having a BBQ with your team whilst cruising along the Amstel past the light installations? The whole department will still be talking about it in January. We’ll sort out the boat, the chef, the skipper and the drinks. Afterwards, you’ll disembark right in the city centre, so the evening can simply carry on.
A fantastic experience for a stag party. It was very cosy for 11 of us. The drinks were really well organised. There was even coffee and tea waiting for us. The skipper was friendly and, despite working a double shift, took the time for a chat at the end. We’ll definitely be back.
