During the dark winter months you can enjoy various artworks along the Amsterdam canals. The festival takes place from 28 November 2024 to 19 January 2025. This year’s theme is ‘rituals’. The Amsterdam Light Festival is an annual event during the winter months in Amsterdam. During this festival, the canals and historic buildings of the city are illuminated by specially designed light artworks from international artists. The light artworks are spread across the city and can be admired both from the water (via a cruise boat) and from the shore.

What to expect during the Light Festival

Onze boten zijn te boeken van 10 personen tot en met 100+. Je hoeft de boot nooit te delen met andere groepen, jullie krijgen een privéschip, inclusief een gezellige en professionele schipper.

The boat

You can indicate which type of boat you want to sail on, a sloop or a salon boat. But whatever you choose, all our boats are fully equipped. There is often even a toilet on our salon boats.

The drinks package

The drinks consist of beer, wine and soft drinks. If you want to expand this package further, with a glass of prosecco for example, that is no problem. We are happy to help organise the perfect outing for your group.

Music on board

Playing music on the boats is not allowed, due to noise disturbance.

What is the best time for a lunch/brunch cruise?

The lunch/brunch cruise runs all year round. In colder weather, we have blankets on board, heating, and you can sit in the covered area. In summer or in warmer weather, you can sit comfortably outside.

What time does the boat depart?

The boat does not depart at fixed times. It is entirely up to you. You can simply indicate what time you would like to set off.

What time do you have to stop boating in Volendam?

In Volendam, we’re allowed on the water until 7 pm.

Are the drinks chilled on board?

All the snacks and drinks are, of course, chilled.

How much does it cost to hire a boat in Volendam?

You can book a crewed boat in Volendam from just €175 per hour. This way, you and your group can relax on a luxury sloop without having to worry about a thing.
