The Canal Festival is a ten-day classical music festival in Amsterdam. Since 1997, the festival has brought classical music to unique locations along the canals. From intimate house concerts in canal houses to large-scale performances on floating stages – the Canal Festival makes classical music accessible to everyone.

The Canal Concert

The highlight of the festival is the Canal Concert (Grachtenconcert), a free open-air concert on a floating stage on the Prinsengracht. This spectacular event attracts tens of thousands of visitors who gather along the canal banks and on boats to enjoy classical music in a magical setting.
