Culinary route

Amsterdam, our capital, has become one of the most cultural cities in the Western world in recent years. This is also the case in the culinary field. When you sail the culinary route you will see this. This route takes you to the best spots for good food, a cool drink or a delicious ice cream. You can moor at these spots, but it is also possible to be served on board. When you do the sailing route, you can consider the stops below.

The bakery shop

Didn’t bring lunch from home? No problem. Make a quick stop at one of the first shops you pass by, the bakery shop. You can go to the bakery for breakfast, lunch and other treats for coffee.

Haarlemmerpoort

The Haarlemmerpoort, which is officially called Wilemspoort, is a piece of Amsterdam’s history. When you cruise the culinary route it is definitely worth taking this piece of history with you.

Loetje along the IJ

Along the culinary route you can moor at Loetje aan ‘t IJ. With about 22 locations, Loetje is known for its steaks, but you can also go here for lunch until 16:00. Don’t worry about booking, you can just drop by without a reservation!

Would you rather stay in the cruising theme? At the NDSM-Pier you can board an old training ship that now serves as an Asian bar and grill restaurant.

Pllek

When the weather is nice, Plekk is a hip place to moor. Here you can chill on a beach and enjoy an inspiring atmosphere. Vegetarian or vegan? Pllek serves as much organic and vegetable food as possible. Their menu consists of 75% vegetarian food, 25% of which is vegan. There is something for everyone!


Meneer Nieges

At Meneer Nieges you can enjoy delicious food and you are very welcome if you are looking for a bit of fun. It doesn’t matter if it’s morning or evening. It is always time for good food and fun.

MOS Amsterdam

For the total experience of fine dining and a feel-good atmosphere, go to MOS Amsterdam. Do you want to eat French-international food with a nice view? Then this restaurant is perfect for you.

A’DAM Lookout

Since you are already cruising on the IJ, you might as well take a look across the street at the A’DAM Lookout Tower. On the 19th floor there is a restaurant with a panoramic view of the city. Do you want a little more excitement during your cruising trip? On top of the roof of the A’DAM tower is a swing where you can swing at a height of 100 meters.

Hannekes Boom

Eating and drinking at Hannekes Boom is always fun. Original and sustainable food is central here. Looking at the menu is unfortunately not possible, it can differ per day!

Scheepskameel

Since 2016 you can eat traditional European food at restaurant Scheepskameel. Enjoy an extensive wine list featuring only German wines.

Maritime museum

Maritime museum

The Maritime Museum in Amsterdam has the most prominent maritime collection with approximately 400,000 objects. During a visit you will learn something about 500 years of maritime history and you will discover how this is connected to the present.

Brewboys Craftbar

Are you not into fine dining? For a slightly more informal atmosphere you can go to bar Langendijk. Please note, December 20, 2019 the doors of the Langedijk bar will close and the Brewboys Craftbar will open at the end of February 2020.

Bar Amstelhaven

Just before you cruise on the Amstel canal you can stop at the Amstelhaven bar / restaurant. Here you can enjoy a snack or a drink by the water.

Café de Amstel

The ideal way to end a day of cruising is perhaps Café de Amstel. This pub from 1938 exudes Amsterdam cosiness and there is always something to do. A nice place to evaluate what the day was like.
