Every year, Liberation Day traditionally concludes with the May 5th concert on the Amstel. This takes place in front of the famous Royal Theater Carré. The concert is broadcast live on national television and attracts thousands of visitors to the banks of the Amstel.

What was the programme in 2022?

The 2023 line-up has not yet been announced, but we can always look back at last year’s line-up. Last year featured a diverse range of well-known Dutch artists performing on the floating stage, creating an unforgettable evening of music and celebration.

The concert on the Amstel takes place, as the name suggests, on the river “De Amstel”. There is limited space along the banks, so it is advisable to arrive early to secure a good spot. You can also watch the concert from the water.

Would you like to watch the concert live from the water? This is possible, but permits are required for this. The Amstel is closed to regular shipping during the concert. At Bootuitjes, we can arrange a boat for you to experience this unique event from the water.
