Is smoking permitted on board the kings day boat

Smoking is officially prohibited on our boats and sloops. This applies to sloops with and without a canopy. Once you are back on dry land, we will of course not stop you from smoking.

Are you allowed to bring your own drinks and snacks on the King’s Day boat?

Certainly. You are welcome to bring anything you like on board. If you do not opt for the unlimited drinks package, we understand that you may wish to bring your own beverages. That is not a problem.

As there is no catering available on the boat, you are also welcome to bring your own food on board. This could include sandwiches, snacks, etc. Make it a celebration that suits your preferences!

How far in advance do you need to book a boat for King’s Day in Amsterdam?

Bookings for King’s Day 2027 will open in early 2027. The boats sell out a few weeks in advance every year, so be sure to book early. Sign up for the newsletter and you’ll be the first to know when tickets become available.

Are you allowed to bring your own snacks and drinks onto the boat on King’s Day?

Yes, you can. If you don’t opt for a drinks package that includes unlimited cold drinks all day, you’re welcome to bring your own. You’re also allowed to bring food onto the boat.

What are the general boating rules during King’s Day in Amsterdam?

Renting a boat during King’s Day in Amsterdam comes with a number of rules you must follow. For example, the boat or sloop must not be longer than 10 metres (in much of the city centre). There is also a special route. This differs from the usual routes in Amsterdam outside of King’s Day. So you cannot decide for yourself how and where you sail. The special sailing rules are in place to keep water traffic running smoothly. Fortunately, there is a skipper on board who ensures these rules are followed. This means you can spend the whole day relaxing or dancing as you celebrate King’s Day.

There are plenty of things to do in Amsterdam on King’s Day. Visit various flea markets, relax on a terrace, head to one of the many festivals or, of course, hire a boat and cruise along Amsterdam’s canals! It gets very busy on King’s Day in Amsterdam. As many people go out on the water on King’s Day, the city centre and the canals are particularly busy. Please bear this in mind. Book your boat in good time. Also, make sure you arrive at the boarding point on time if you’re going out on the water.
